Halloween Tournament Costumes

We had four competitive teams this summer in Mtn Dream.  Our 10U C and 10U B teams held there own all season with the C team finishing strong with a second place gold bracket performance in their last tournament.  The B team had a great run and finished 2nd at an all B tournament in the early part of the season.  The 12U team went to the silver bracket championship game in 3 of their 5 tournaments and came up one run short from the championship game in another tournament.  They came home with one first place finish and a lot of hardware this summer.  The 14U B team posted some great offensive stats batting with a team average of .415 for the season.

It’s time to look forward to Fall Ball.  We’ll have tryouts for 10U, 12U, and 14U as follows:

12U – Hanning – 10:30am – SLV Middle School Field
10U – Rolen – noon – SLV Middle School Field

For second year players in any age division fall is a time to think about playing up.  The age brackets are exactly the same as the summer season.  It goes off of your age as of Jan 1st 2017.  So if your player was 11 on Jan 1st they would be 12U.  If they were 13 on Jan 1st then it is 14U.  Players are not allowed to play down to a lower age division.  Also, there are plenty of other sports going on in the fall including soccer and school teams so please check with your coach for your age division about schedule conflicts or commitment requirements.

Some other local leagues may not have fall ball so players are very welcome to come tryout for Mtn Dream.  There is no pressure to hop leagues and the expectations are that girls from other leagues that play fall Mtn Dream will return to their home leagues for rec and summer teams in 2018.  Fall Ball has become very competitive so building stronger teams with players from other leagues helps bring everyone up a level.

Summer Ball 2017

We’re starting to gear up for the 2017 Summer Travel Ball Season and we have some very exciting news.  This year we’re able to bring in Howard Kobata to do our summer clinics the weekend of May 20th and 21st .  Last year we focused on offensive/hitting clinics with Ali King from Santa Cruz Elite Fastpitch.  This year we’re switching to defense.  Howard is one of the most sought after defensive instructors in the world.  He’s trained athletes at every level imaginable.  That includes the professional, olympic, collegiate, high school, and youth sports levels.  You can read more about his style and even order his DVD’s from his website, kobatastyle.com:

We are in the process of finalizing our player fees and tournament schedules for all age groups.  This year we hope to get 8U C, 10U B, 10U C, 12U C, and 14U B teams for the summer.  We’re expecting fees will be between $375-$425 this year and will include pictures, uniform, clinics, and tournament fees.  Fees depend on the number of players per team and the number of tournaments each group is signed up for.  We also have scholarships available for financial hardships.

Tryouts for the 8U C, 10U C, 12U C are scheduled for Sunday April  30th with the parent meeting on Wed May 3rd:

Due to the USA Softball (formerly ASA) rule changes, we’ve formed our 10U B team already.  We’re accepting coaching applications for the below TBD positions.
